That: Council waive the Rules of Procedure to deal with Report No. IS-32-2019 regarding the Point Abino issue. As Councillor Butler did not have a seconder for her Motion, the Motion was not placed on the floor. (d) Mayor Redekop Mayor Redekop’s enquiry to Mr. Walsh was with respect to stormwater management ponds and the maintenance schedule. Some of these ponds are becoming obvious parts of neighbourhoods in which they’re located. They have paved paths around them and are becoming a facility for recreation, similar to a park. He asked if any consideration has been given or could be raised during the 2020 budget deliberations about the maintenance schedule. Mr. Walsh responded the current maintenance schedule on all of the ponds is mowing them once every three weeks or so. If Council wishes a higher level of service, staff can take a look at ponds that would be appropriate to provide that higher level of service. For instance, the Brian Street pond doesn’t have a path around it, it has a tight fence and it’s not appropriate. The pond at the Ridgeway-by-the-Lake development may be more suitable as it’s more wide open and accessible with a path going around it. If it’s Council’s wish that they provide a higher level of service, they can bring a supplemental request to the operating budget for deliberation. Council can see what the costs are and the opportunities for improvement and make a decision at that time. The Mayor confirmed the next Infrastructure Services Sub- Committee
