That: The March 31, 2026, Minutes of the Fort Erie Accessibility Advisory Committee meeting be approved as printed. (Carried) 6. Playground Update Elizabeth Latif, Project Manager, Parks Planner, provided an overview of the playground design choices for Bill Conelly Field and encouraged members to go online and vote for their preference. It was noted that all of the designs included a swing set, but members encouraged the addition of an accessible swing. Members feel that each playground that includes swings should include an accessible swing, an infant/toddler swing, in addition to regular swing(s). Discussion took place regarding the cost of rubberized service. It was noted that the engineered wood fibre is not accessible if it is not topped up regularly and compacted properly. Councillor Noyes noted the issues that have occurred at the new Douglas Park playground related to drainage and the fibre. Councillor Noyes also noted that staff should also do a cost analysis on the cost of rubberized surface vs. the fibre and the maintenance/material topping up required. It was noted that the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan encouraged rubberized surface at new playgrounds, where possible. Elizabeth noted that over time, rubberized surfaces can also have issues such as creasing and splitting. Discussion took place regarding artificial turf and it was noted that there may be pellets in the black rubber base that may cause issues. Councillor
